Workplace violence comes in many forms and originates from several sources. Disgruntled employees, hostile terminations and disgruntled consumers are commonly recognized sources. However Domestic Violence spreading into the workplace is also common, while mental illness, misidentification and ideology are also contributing factors.
Broadly speaking there are four general classes:
Non-Physical violence (intimidation, abuse, threats etc)
Physical violence (punching, kicking, pushing etc)
Aggravated physical violence (Use of weapons, e.g. guns, knives, syringes, pieces of furniture, bottles, glasses, etc)
Acts of terrorism including the use of explosives, arson, hazardous or caustic chemicals and bio_hazards.
ESS works within the corporate culture to develop plans to mitigate or prevent these acts of violence.
It is not uncommon for anger, threats and violence to be associated with employee terminations. ESS can provide personnel to stand by before, during and after this process until the threat has passed. In extreme cases, we can also protect employers at their residences, during normal transit and while traveling.
Corporate disputes can range from ownership and management conflicts to hostile takeovers. Disputes can present uniquely sensitive situations involving legal decisions and court orders with which ESS can assist in the lawful application of.
